valp restoration 2008

a photographic record of restoration and repairs to a volvo valp which was bought on my behalf by a friend in Sweden. the man concerned did a lot of pre mot work to get its export license which i am very grateful for. the restoration took about 1200 hours not counting the work in Sweden. i restored vehicle to the degree i did because i show the vehicle, but it also has to be utterly reliable as i tour Europe and Scandinavia quite often.

i fit 2 x h/4 quartz halogen bulbs which were 65 watts, which were better than the valps original glow worm bulbs but then i acquired some 130/90 eye ball burners. i guess the cables on the valp may have taken the extra load but the light switches certainly would have burnt out in a very short time. so now i am satisfied with the project which took about two days of rolling about under the valp and trying different routes for the cables.
